Designeat

Designeat Website

Probably the coolest site I've come across since I started this blog a few months ago for class. this site has a very nice color scheme an is visually interesting. The Images throughout the site give it nice congruency and tie the site together from beginning to end. I love how the imagery has a gritty texture/feel to them. I also really like how the images in the portfolio section move with viewer interaction. A great balance of subtle movements and viewer interaction throughout the site to keep you interested and not get too annoying.

I really liked the interaction of the website. It was a nice morphing transition from a square to a circle when an item was clicked on. I also liked the color scheme of orange, teal and purple throughout the site. I also thought it had a nice way of displaying information with the screens scrolling from the sides on each of the product pages.

Leoneck Hotel Website

Leoneck Hotel

This site starts off very active with a lot of graphics moving which looked nice from the start. After further navigation all the moving graphics began to annoy as I tried to navigate through the pages. The site was confusing to move through, the navigation wasn't clear. The cursor was also a cartoon cow head which I wasn't fond of.

This site has a nice earthy color scheme that relates to the products on the site. Its an easily navigated site that is neat and orderly. I also like the use of illustrated graphics and vector images throughout the site. The product shots on the site are professional and colorful.

Headcase Design Website

 Headcase Design

This site was build entirely in flash. I had a few minor issues with the site. I did not like its square window format an felt that it should have been bigger to accommodate the screen size. On the other hand, I did like the playful design, layout, color scheme and interaction of the site. It starts off with a fun advertisement for the company. The interaction with the viewer made it an experience and it felt as and it also had a clever underlying concept. This was very different from any of the sites I've seen which made it unique.

Old sites Splash page & link to new site

New Site

This site was very unique. The logo was clever and communicated the efforts of the company. I like the splash page from the old site linking to the new site. The new site's design layout was interesting and kept with the theme of a typed document as the header with all the contact information displayed as an old school document which really sets the stage for the unique illustrations of the portfolio. The layout allows the site to be informative but not to cluttered. Also, the illustrations in the portfolio are fun to look at. As subtle as it is I think my favorite feature of the site was how the logo in the top left corner continued to change colors all the way around the color wheel like it was fiber optic.

This site had a cool design layout. I like the homepage design of large pictures that were links to the actual portfolio projects. Also the subtle touch of having an illustrated icon appear while hovering over the large red information squares was a nice touch. The site had a consistent feel from page to page due in part to both layout and the subtle color scheme and red to keep the eye moving along from page to page. Portfolio pictures were high end shots and nice work. I also enjoyed reading the notes on some of the design direction. this was a very professional looking page.
